Chai Discovery raises $400 million at a $3.8 billion valuation
Index Ventures led the Series C for the company, whose models generate molecular designs from scratch. Eli Lilly and Pfizer already use its platform. Chai says its latest model, Chai-3, improves target success rates and binding affinity over Chai-2, its earlier antibody design model. The performance comparisons are company-reported.
Chai Discovery gives argenx early access to its antibody design platform
The agreement gives argenx access to AI tools for designing antibodies across therapeutic targets. Chai's models are designed to predict and reprogram interactions between biochemical molecules. The company says Chai-3 improves on its earlier model across therapeutic binding, difficult targets and antibody developability. These performance comparisons are Chai's claims.
Latent Labs opens Latent-Y drug design agent to researchers worldwide
Approved researchers receive a free daily quota of 250 designs, with additional credits available for larger campaigns. Latent reports a 67% target-level success rate across nine targets and binding affinities reaching 5.4 nM. It says campaigns ran 56 times faster than independent expert estimates. These results are company-reported, and access is through the Latent Labs Platform.
Insilico and Bora propose an alliance linking AI discovery with drug development
The proposed partnership would connect Insilico's target discovery and molecule design platform with Bora's development, manufacturing and commercialization operations. The companies say its potential value could exceed $2.5 billion if fully implemented. Definitive agreements have yet to be negotiated and signed. Insilico also expects to apply its AI tools to Bora's manufacturing, supply chain and distribution.
Novartis gains access to Chai's AI models for antibody discovery
The collaboration gives Novartis access to Chai's molecular design platform, including Chai-3, across multiple therapeutic targets. It follows more than a year of technical engagement, including early access to a folding model. The partners are extending that work toward broader use in therapeutic programmes. Chai's tools aim to predict and reprogram molecular interactions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
